Back in the rat race
It feels good to have a job. It feels even better to be making money. This first week was short two days, but Sunday will be the beginning of the first full week. The first day was mostly additional training and we did a lot of walking and stair-taking. My sedentary ass was quite sore the next day. It’s been years since I’ve done this type of work, but I’m finding my groove quickly. The job is fast-paced and very focused (apart from breaks, of course) so you can’t help but pick it up quickly. My section is friendly so I have no issues there so far. But then there’s not a lot of time for chitchat.
A girl with whom I hit it off with in training is in another section but we break together. Also, she was awesome enough to offer to carpool with me. H would drive for 30 mins to get me, then 30 mins. to get home and repeated that again when I got off. So she was driving 2 hours each day. My coworker barely deviates from her route so it works out fabulously. We get along like gangbusters and she doesn’t mind when I bitch about women because she usually agrees with me. Ha! So, yeah, I’m real pleased with all of this. H still takes me shopping and we go other places, but now she saves on gas and mileage. She was so happy when I called on break and gave her the good news. It’ll be even easier to save for a car, too.
No sign of the two cute boys from orientation, but I don’t have the time to care. heh
I love being busy and now I don’t feel like a lazy cow when I do a whole lot of nothing on my time off. But I still get some things done.
Working is a great anti-dote to sex blogger bullshit and drama. It’s nice to step out of that bubble and hang with people who aren’t a part of that world (at least as far as I know). I know I’ve said that I don’t always care for having to separate the two, but I realize now that you have to or you’ll go insane or, worse, become one of the throng. Oh, not all sex bloggers are bad. I get a long with some.
I have a post in mind about the whole losing my virginity thing that I should write and publish here soon. Right now I just wanted to talk a bit about work and how well it’s going.
I talked with T for about 15-20 minutes before each work night. We didn’t have time to fuck during those chats, but we made up for that last night. It was good fun and I like having someone to fuck on the weekends. He teased me mercilessly before work the other night, so I was more than primed for last night’s activities. We were talking just before I started writing this and we’ll most likely fuck again later. [insert large grin here]
