Because she deserves all the kudos she gets

The lovely and multi-talented Mollena gave a great interview in four parts regarding her very controversial, kink race play:

Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV

I’m naturally drawn to controversial and taboo subjects, as I have rather controversial ideas and views myself.

But that’s not the only reason why I pointed you toward her interview with Andrea Plaid (The Cruel Secretary). I also did it because Mollena discusses this hot-button topic in her usual intelligent, thoughtful, insightful and funny way. Oh, and she has no problem literally telling her detractors to fuck off. You gotta love a person who can give such a fine balanced interview.

Oh, and before I forget, Mistress Matisse made a brief interview with Mollena regarding race play the focus of her latest Control Tower column, and I was very pleased and excited to see it on Seattle, Washington’s The Stranger’s website.

My personal opinion regarding race play is, at its core, the same as it is with any kink: Whatever turns consenting adults on is fine by me. It’s none of my business what sort of play they engage in. I can certainly understand why some people would be horrified, disgusted and/or outraged by such emotionally charged play, but that’s where the understanding stops. It’s never good when people take their fear and incomprehension and turn it into burning hatred, and that has sometimes been the case with those opposed to this sort of play or any discussion about it.

I’m very proud of Mollena. She is an incredibly brave woman for putting herself out there like this. If only more people were willing to stand tall in the face of potential shitstorms, and give people who share controversial views and kinks an inspirational voice they so desperately need.

Kudos must also be given to Ms. Plaid and Matisse for giving Mollena other platforms for her voice to reach scores more people, and for sticking their own necks out in the process.

Bravo, ladies, bravo.
